Sarah is a freelance writer and editor, with a background in property and broadcasting.
Having moved with her parents many times when she was younger, Sarah grew up with a good feel for different homes and relocation. She became seriously interested in the housing market when she bought her own flat in 1999 and worked for three years as an estate agent, valuing and selling properties in Berkshire and Surrey. Her natural ability to advise clients on how to make the most of their homes, together with her study of interior design, resulted in Sarah then setting up her own home image consultancy.
In the summer of 2003, Sarah auditioned for the BBC and was chosen to be the property stylist for 10 one-hour specials of the already successful ‘To Buy Or Not To Buy’. She was then invited to co-present the second series and remained as one of the main presenters until 2007. Sarah has also presented ‘Trading Up’ for the BBC and ‘The Property Market’ for the Overseas Property Channel, and featured a number of times on BBC Breakfast and Radio Five Live as a property expert. She has undertaken corporate filming – directing, editing and presenting – and is skilled in voice-over work.
As a speaker, theatre host and expert panellist, Sarah has appeared at property shows and exhibitions around the UK, including BBC Good Homes, Invest in Property, The Home & Garden Show and Landlord & Buy to Let Show.
Since 2005, she has contributed to interior style, home and investment publications on a wide variety of UK and overseas property-related subjects. She was the Property Editor for GT Magazine and worked for 4 years as PR & Marketing Associate for Platinum Property Partners, the UK’s leading property investment franchise.
Most recently, Sarah has ghostwritten several property investment books; edited a number of others on property, business and branding, and continues to work with entrepreneurs to produce books that support their business enterprises. She is also currently working closely with Kate Faulkner, producing marketing and PR content for high-profile clients within the property industry.
Sarah graduated from Aberdeen University in 1996 with a Master’s degree in English, and then spent 8 months in Southern Italy, teaching in a private school and learning the language. She loves European travel, architecture, cooking and photography, and skiing is her sporting passion. When she’s not whipping copy into shape, Sarah loves nothing better than to hop in the car with her camera and trusty whippet and head out into the wonderful Scottish countryside.
